Andrzej Skowron is currently a Full Professor in the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Mechanics at the University of Warsaw, Poland. He is also a professor at the System Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences. Andrzej is one of Poland’s most eminent scientists in the realm of intelligent methods in Computer Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. His seminal works in the areas of soft computing, reasoning with incomplete information, approximate reasoning, rough sets, granular computing, synthesis, knowledge discovery systems and advanced data mining have gained him a worldwide recognition. Throughout his long and fruitful career Andrzej worked as a researcher and scholar in institutions and companies in several countries, in particular Poland, Sweden, Italy and the US.

He was involved in several national and international research and commercial projects related to, e. Forex prediction, and approximate reasoning in distributed environments. Having supervised over 20 PhD Thesis and 100 Master Thesis Andrzej is a father figure for a whole generation of Computer Science researchers and practitioners in Poland. He is a proper geek, who loves computer science, fast cars and playing electric guitar after hours. Naturally, he like playing games, but he was always more interested in how they are made and all technicalities that come with them. He also was a visiting researcher at University of New South Wales, Australia in School of Engineering and Information Technology. A member of IEEE and The Polish Information Processing Society. His program, named MINI-Player, reached the quarter-final level in the International General Game Playing Championships held by the Stanford University. An active and experienced researcher in fields of science related to data exploration, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
